AHMED MERZOUK

PhD, Director, President and Chief Executive Officer of Biopep Solutions Inc.

Dr. Merzouk holds a PhD in Organic Chemistry from University of Paris-Sud (Paris-XI), France. He has more than 18 years’ experience in industry and academia in drug discovery of small and large molecules. The expertise of Dr. Merzouk ranges from design, synthesis, and purification of synthetic molecules to extraction of active ingredients from natural sources. Dr. Merzouk was the previous Chemistry Director of Chemokine Therapeutics Corp. for eight years. He was responsible for the design and the synthesis of active analogues that were derived from the Chemokine’s family of proteins. Two of lead compounds that resulted from his work reached phase- II clinical trials (CTC9908, and CTCE0214). Dr. Merzouk has authored more than 17 peer-reviewed journals as well as 22 issued and pending US and PCT patents.

MOHAMED AWANG

PhD, Board of Director of Biopep Solutions Inc.

Dr. Mohamed holds a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from University of Nottingham, UK. Formerly, he was the Dean of Pharmacy at the International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM) and he brings with him extensive experience in pharmaceutical processes and GMP. He was amongst the key players in the initiation of a pharmaceutical pilot plant at the Faculty of Pharmacy IIUM, the first pilot plant set up with GMP environment under an institution of higher learning in Malaysia.

YALCIN ILSEVER

PhD, CPA.CGA, IMA (USA), FICB, Director, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Biopep Solutions Inc.

Dr. Ilsever is Professor of Accounting, Finance and Statistical Measurement. He has extensive experience in the private sector in the issuance of fixed income securities and equities. Dr. Ilsever has also published extensively on electronic commerce platforms, and business measurement systems. Dr. Ilsever has been a Certified General Accountant since 1985 and a member of the Institute of Management Accountants in the USA.

MADAM NOR AZORA ABDUL AZIZ

General Manager of Biopep Malaysia Sdn. Bhd.

Madam Nor Azora holds a degree in Bachelor Science Biotechnology from University of Putra (UPM), Malaysia with 16 years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing industrial such as Pharmaniaga Manufacturing Berhad, Xorix Sdn Bhd and IIUM Kuliyyah of Pharmacy (IKOP) Sdn Bhd in GMP/GLP facilities. She was amongst the key players in the setting up the Quality Control laboratory towards ISO/IEC 17025 and GMP certified with safety and halal (Islamic Sharia’ah) of the products. Furthermore, her strength in start-up company and involved in qualifications (User Requirement Specification (URS), Design Specification (DQ) and Installation & Operation Qualification (IQ/OQ), and validation activities (analytical method validation, process validation and cleaning validation).

GARY YALLOWAY

PhD, Director, Vice President, Regulatory Affairs and Drug Development of Biopep Solutions Inc.

Dr. Yalloway has over 22 years of multidisciplinary research experience and skills in enzyme engineering, protein purification, and structural functional relationships of proteins of medical and industrial interest. He has significant experience in regulatory affairs with both the US Food and Drug Administration and Health Canada. He is highly experienced in all aspects of R&D, process development, and the scale-up and manufacture of therapeutic proteins. His specialties include upstream and downstream processing, especially isolation of inclusion bodies, protein refolding, and purification of proteins from bacterial sources, including large-scale production and bulk manufacturing of recombinant proteins. Dr. Yalloway earned his PhD from the University College Dublin, Ireland and was a post- doctoral fellow at the Institute for Biophysical Chemistry, Frankfurt, Germany and the University of British Columbia, Vancouver. He was also a postdoctoral research associate at Simon Fraser University where he was a lab manager and a team leader responsible for the project management of junior scientists. He has completed six years of post-doctoral work and has 11 peer-reviewed publications.
